ENERGY STAR Amendments to Monolithic LED Luminaire Standards
The US Department of Energy has just released a revised draft of the ENERGY STAR standard for Integral LED Lamps. This type of luminaire, often referred to as a "retrofit" or "replacement" lamp, refers to an integral system including LEDs, including integral LED drivers and ANSI standardized design bases, and is designed with ANSI standardized lamp holders/sockets. The US Department of Energy announced the first round of drafts of monolithic LED luminaire standards in January 2009, and received a total of 26 letters during the review and comment period. The second round of drafts on this standard will be reviewed on June 26, 2009. The US Department of Energy announced a summary report of the 2009 DOE Solid-State Lighting (SSL) R&D Workshop, held in San Francisco, California, February 3-5, 2009.
More than 400 participants expressed their views on the topic "Transformations inLighting", which included lighting industry, research institutions, universities, national laboratories, utilities, and lighting design groups. The 6th Annual R&D Symposium was held to establish a partnership between enterprises, and shared with you the development strategy of high-efficiency, high-performance SSL technology in the process of continuous progress.
Solid-State Lighting Manufacturing Workshop

The US Department of Energy will host the second Solid-State Lighting (SSL) ManufacturingWorkshop. The first workshop was held on April 21-22, 2009 in Fairfax, Virginia, USA. The second seminar will be held here. Continue to work on the basis. Nearly 200 participants helped identify key issues for the conference and the obstacles encountered in the transition to low-cost, high-quality SSL products. To overcome these obstacles, participants identified key issues that are influencing the proposed SSL production and initial work.
At the first seminar held in April, a topic to be discussed will become a draft of the SSL product manufacturing blueprint to guide the development of the SSL manufacturing industry in the future. At the second seminar in Vancouver, participants were asked to give feedback on the draft SSL manufacturing blueprint generated by the first workshop, which will eventually be published, representing the industry's SSL manufacturing, best practices and opportunities for cooperation.
